OUR SOUL

Born in the Forge.
Bred on the Highway.

Biker Blades was founded on a passion for custom machinery, rugged utility, and master blacksmithing. We fuse the raw, mechanical spirit of motorcycle engineering with the timeless art of custom metallurgy.

THE JOURNEY OF STEEL

How a Blade is Born

Each Biker Blades creation is forged from raw bar stock and undergoes over 40 hours of focused hand fabrication.

01

Selection & Forge Weld

We stack alternating sheets of hard 1095 and tough 15N20 high-carbon steel. The billet is heated to a white-hot 2,200°F in our propane forge and hammered into a single solid block using our 50-pound power hammer.

02

Folding the Damascus

The steel billet is repeatedly drawn out, cut, restacked, and refolded. This process is repeated 5 to 7 times, creating over 320 alternating layers of metal that form our iconic glowing ripples when acid-etched.

03

The Rough Grind & Heat Treatment

Using vertical grinders, we shape the blade bevels by hand. The knife is then heated to critical temperature, oil-quenched to freeze the carbon structure, and tempered in a heat kiln for two cycles to achieve a rock-hard but flexible 58-60 HRC.

04

Handle Fitting & Sculpting

Premium grips (such as natural stag horn or carbon fiber) are mated to the blade tang, secured with marine epoxy and hand-peened brass or mosaic pins. The handle is hand-sanded and polished to bring out the natural grain.

05

Acids & Razor Honing

The blade is submerged in ferric chloride acid. The acid eats into the 1095 steel faster than the nickel-rich 15N20 steel, revealing the high-contrast Damascus pattern. Finally, the edge is hand-stropped on leather blocks to a surgical razor grind.

THE COMPANY

About Biker Blades Co.

Biker Blades Co. was established with a single vision: to forge uncompromising, high-performance blades that withstand the harshest outdoor conditions. Bringing together decades of combined metalworking, precision engineering, and traditional knife-making heritage, our team crafts tools built for extreme durability and timeless appeal.

Operating our dedicated forge in Servierville, TN, we oversee every step of production in-house—from raw billet heat treatment to final razor stropping. We don't build ornamental showpieces; we forge functional, heirloom-quality blades engineered for hunters, adventurers, craftsmen, and riders.
